Refund and Cancellation Policy
Nobody enrols expecting to leave. This policy exists so that if you do want to stop, you already know the answer: the trial period, what is refundable afterwards, how quickly money comes back, and who to ask. It applies to the school programme, our workshops and our event registrations.
1. What this policy covers
This policy explains when a fee is refundable, how much comes back, and how you ask for it. It covers:
- the school programme - the annual plan and the monthly plan;
- workshops and intensives - for example, the SuperKids workshop;
- event and competition registrations - for example, the International Junior Entrepreneurship Challenge.
It does not cover fees you pay directly to a board or a partner institution, such as board examination fees or IIT Madras School Connect course fees, or things you buy from someone else, such as a laptop, software or textbooks. See section 9.
It forms part of our Terms of Service, and it does not reduce any right you have under consumer law.
2. Summary at a glance
| What you paid for | If you want to stop | What comes back |
|---|---|---|
| A free demo | Nothing to cancel | Nothing was charged |
| School programme - inside the trial period | Tell us within 14 days of the first live class | The programme fee paid, in full |
| School programme - monthly plan, after the trial | Tell us before your next billing date | No further charges; the month already paid runs to its end |
| School programme - annual plan, after the trial | Tell us in writing at any time | ₹8,250 for each complete unused month |
| A workshop or intensive | Tell us before the batch starts | The workshop fee, in full |
| An event or competition entry | Tell us before the entry deadline | The entry fee, in full |
| Anything, if we cancel it | We have cancelled it | The undelivered part, in full |
The short version. Inside the trial period you can walk away and get your money back, in full, for any reason at all - or for no reason. After that, we refund the part of the programme you have not used. If we cancel or cannot deliver something, you get that part back in full, whichever plan you are on.
3. The free demo
Our demo session is free and carries no obligation. We do not take payment details to book one, and if you decide not to enrol, nothing is owed.
4. The trial period
New students get a 14-day trial period, counted from the student's first live class. It exists so a family can see how the school actually works before committing money to it, and it applies whether you chose the annual or the monthly plan.
- Inside the trial period you may withdraw for any reason - or with no reason at all - by telling us in writing.
- We refund the programme fee you have paid in full, with no administration charge and no deduction for classes attended during the trial.
- If you are on the monthly plan and have paid one month, that month is refunded in full.
- The only amount we cannot refund is a charge that your own bank or the payment provider has levied on you, because that is not money we hold.
We would rather understand what went wrong than process a refund quietly. If you tell us you are leaving, we will ask whether a different cohort, mentor or pace would have worked - but the refund does not depend on your answer, and we will process it either way.
5. After the trial: the school programme
Monthly plan
- Tell us before your next billing date and we will stop billing. You will not be charged again.
- The month you have already paid for is not refunded, because teaching continues to the end of that month and your child keeps access to it. You are welcome to use the rest of the month.
- There is no cancellation charge and no notice period beyond telling us before the next billing date.
Annual plan
- You may withdraw at any time by telling us in writing.
- We refund ₹8,250 for each complete unused month remaining in the year. That is the annual fee divided into twelve - the same figure as the monthly plan - so an annual family is never worse off for having paid up front.
- A part-month is not refunded, since the month is already under way.
- Fees for any additional services already delivered - for example, a workshop already run - are not part of this calculation.
Where a student stops attending
A refund is based on the date you tell us you are withdrawing, not on the last date the student attended. If a student simply stops turning up, fees continue to fall due until you tell us in writing that you are withdrawing. Please tell us, so that we can stop billing you and release the place to another family.
6. If we cancel or cannot deliver
Sometimes the decision is ours, not yours.
- If we cancel a programme, a batch or an event, you receive a full refund of the fees paid for the part we did not deliver - or, if you prefer, a credit towards another programme. The choice is yours, and we will offer it in writing.
- If we remove a student from the programme under section 17 of our Terms of Service for a reason other than your family's breach, we refund the fees for the undelivered part.
- If a student misses sessions because of illness, travel or a family decision, that is not a cancellation by us. We will do what we reasonably can to help a student catch up - a replacement session, a recording where we have one, or mentor time - but a missed session is not refunded on its own.
7. Workshops and intensives
- Before the batch starts: tell us before the published start date and we refund the workshop fee in full.
- After the batch starts: because a workshop is a short, fixed-seat intensive with a reserved place, fees are not refundable once it has begun. You may withdraw, but the remaining days are not refunded.
- If we cancel the batch, or move it to a date you cannot attend, you get a full refund or a place in the next batch, at your choice.
- Missed days within a workshop are not refunded individually.
8. Events and competitions
- Before the entry deadline: tell us before the deadline published on the event page and we refund the entry fee in full.
- After the entry deadline: because teams are seeded, mentors allocated and materials prepared from the entry list, entry fees are not refundable after the deadline.
- If we cancel the event, or the format changes so that your team can no longer take part, you get a full refund of the entry fee.
- If your team withdraws after the deadline but before the event, we will not refund the fee, though we will consider a credit towards a future event where the place can be re-filled.
- Travel and accommodation to an in-person finale are self-funded and are not refundable by us, unless we granted a travel scholarship in writing.
9. Fees paid to boards and partners
Some money never passes through us, so we cannot refund it:
- board examination and registration fees paid to NIOS, Cambridge or GED, and any fees their exam centres charge;
- IIT Madras School Connect course fees, charged per course by IIT Madras;
- textbooks, software, devices or other materials you buy from a supplier.
Those organisations set their own refund rules, and their rules apply. If you ask us, we will help you put a case to the right organisation and give you the receipts and references you need. The decision, however, is theirs.
10. How to request a refund
- Email learn@hashfuture.school with the subject "Refund request", or message us on WhatsApp at +91 94971 20591.
- Include the parent or guardian's name, the student's name, the email or phone number the enrolment is under, the invoice number or payment reference, the date of payment, and what the request is for.
- We acknowledge your request within two working days and tell you who is handling it.
- We give you a decision within seven working days of receiving the request, setting out what we will refund and why.
- We start the refund within ten working days of the decision.
You do not need to fill in a form or give a reason. If a request needs longer than seven working days - for example, because we must check a payment with our provider - we will tell you why and give you a date.
11. How long a refund takes
- Where it goes: refunds are made to the original payment method - the same card, account, UPI ID or payment route you paid from. We cannot send a refund to a different card or a different person.
- When it reaches you: we start the refund within ten working days of our decision. Your bank or payment provider then needs time to post it, which is typically five to ten working days in India, and can be up to one billing cycle for an international card.
- International payments: we refund in the currency you paid in. If the exchange rate has moved, or your bank charges a fee for receiving the refund, the amount you see in your own currency may differ slightly from the amount you paid. We do not keep the difference.
- What you receive: you get the amount we agree, and we email you a refund confirmation with the transaction reference so you can trace it.
12. What is not refundable
- Fees already paid to a board, a partner institution or another supplier (section 9).
- Months of the school programme or days of a workshop that have already been delivered.
- Sessions a student missed, where the session was delivered.
- Travel, accommodation and personal expenses.
- Charges levied on you by your own bank, card issuer or payment provider - for example a foreign transaction fee or a receiving fee. That money is not held by us, so we cannot return it.
- Any request made more than twelve months after the payment it relates to, except where the law or a payment provider's rules require us to consider it later.
13. Chargebacks and payment disputes
If you think a payment is wrong, please tell us first. We will look at it with our payment provider and usually sort it out far faster than a bank dispute takes.
- A refund we have already processed cannot also be raised as a chargeback. If it is, the bank normally reverses the duplicate, and it can freeze the amount while it investigates.
- Where a chargeback is raised, we give the payment provider the enrolment records, the invoices and the correspondence we hold, as any school would.
- If a chargeback is raised for a period we have already delivered, we may recover that amount from you where the payment provider rules in our favour.
14. Your statutory rights
This policy sits alongside your legal rights, and does not replace, reduce or limit them. In particular:
- In India, your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the rules on e-commerce and direct selling apply, including your right to a refund where a service is not provided with reasonable care or is not delivered as described.
- If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have rights under distance-selling and consumer protection law, which may include a right to cancel a distance contract within a statutory period. Our trial period and refund terms are designed to be at least as generous as those rights, and we do not ask you to give them up.
- In any country, where the law gives you a stronger right than this policy, the law wins, and we will honour it.
15. If you are not satisfied
If a refund decision does not seem right, or we have missed the timelines in section 11, tell our Grievance Officer. We will look at the whole record again and reply within 30 days.

16. Changes to this policy
We review this policy at least once a year. The version on this page is the current one, with the "last updated" date shown at the top. A change to the policy applies to what you buy after the change - it does not change the terms you already paid under.
